What surprised me is how limited my technical experience is. I have a strong background in telecommunications, and thought I would have scored much higher on each section. When I saw that I was not even 80% across the board, I realized that I have a lot of refreshing and learning to do, in order to get to the level I thought I was on in my mind.

Library Technology

Name: IPads to Enance User Engagement During Reference Interactions
Author: Malone, Michelle M; Wells, Veronica A
Title: American Library Association
Date Published: Nov/Dec 2012
Searched for? IPads
Does my home library embrace this new trend? No

My personal thoughts on library staff using IPads:

It is an awesome idea to incorporate current technology into the modern library. Often times, I am reluctant to go into a library, because it feels like a dinosaur of an building and practice. When I think library technology, I think microfiche, typewriters and old computers. I do not think of the staff being current on technology, and therefore usually go to a book store where I am confident the staff can assist me with finding books or any other thing, while using my technical devices. By reading this article, I realized that the library is taking on a new identity, one that is competing with the changes in technology and the way books and materials are offered to patrons.

A.A. Goodwin

Hello,

My name is April Goodwin. I am a US Army Veteran and a former US DOD civilian employee. I currently operate my own non-profit organization which causes me to travel abroad quite frequently. A link to where I work is below.

A link to what I do while in Jamaica is below.

By the end of February, my non profit organization should be added to this list. When I am not raising my 14 year old son, or traveling back and forth, you can find me at home, in front of my laptop, doing homework or research.

That is me in a nutshell!
